Description

1953 $2 FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE 35

✦ THE DETAILS

1953 Federal Reserve Note. Composition: Cotton-linen paper.

Condition: grades in the verbal range above (raw, conservative seller estimate). 7-region inspection completed: All four corners intact with minor rounding and fraying from circulation; all four edges show light fraying but no tears or splits into design; surface shows moderate soiling and staining but no pinholes, holes, or missing pieces; fold count: one horizontal center fold (breaks paper surface) plus two vertical folds; no repairs, tape, or restoration observed; paper is limp with no original embossing; no watermark obstruction. Grade capped at VF range due to multiple folds (one horizontal + two vertical). The horizontal fold that breaks the paper surface combined with moderate soiling and staining places this note solidly in the Very Fine range per Heritage criteria for ‘moderate circulation with several folds and mild soiling.’
